Howdy y'all! So, yes. This is the long-promised fund-raising garage sale post for my chest reconstructive surgery. And oh, do I have a bunch of items for you. 212 of them! Why it's a veritable treasure chest, if you will. ;p

Normally, I flock all of my personal LJ entries. However, I realized that if I leave these open, then if people on my flist know someone else who's looking for a particular item, or something like that, then I'll have a chance of raising more money. *cough* So, I'm going public here, folks. This means that first you have to sit through a brief introduction. (If you already know me, you can probably skip it.)


WHY I AM HAVING THIS GARAGE SALE

Hi! I'm Kim. (For a more general intro post to me, see this post.) I identify as trans and genderqueer (my preferred pronoun is ze/hir) and am scheduled to have chest reconstructive surgery this December. My surgery is not covered by my medical insurance, and I am a student with extremely minimal income to speak of. I have been saving my money for this surgery for a long time, and finally thought I had enough to have the surgery (which, by itself, costs $7,900 USD). Then I realized I'd forgotten to factor in travel, lodging, food, and other costs. Thus, I began looking for ways to raise extra money, and one idea I came up with was having a fund-raising garage sale. I traveled to my parents' house and hunted through old belongings for things to sell (mostly books). Then I spent the better part of a day coding this post. x__x Hence, my LJ garage sale was born!

Related, but it would be super easy to write an MGS/TF2 crossover, you'd just need to have Snake after the intelligence of one side or the other for some reason. Hijinx ensue.

Side note: After you complete the game, you should get a Single Action Army or a Patriot. Play the game again until Snake fights Ocelot (in movie mode) for the first time. When Ocelot and all of his guards are passed out, shoot Ocelot in the leg once (Single Action Army recommended). If done correctly, when you fight him in the game he will have a bandage around his leg.
Is that true? I may have to try this if this is the case.

I think too much about people and what they're thinking when they think of me, if they're thinking of me at all. I'm far too egotistical sometimes and I think that when I'm thinking of someone, they're also somehow thinking of me. Too much thinking for my own good.

Yesterday, I encountered three people I used to go to school with. One I approached and spoke briefly too and felt very comfortable around. The other, I saw by complete chance because I narrowly caught a bus before it took off. I walked to an empty seat in the front of the bus and then noticed him sitting in the back. I already knew that he didn't like me because he rejected my friend request on Facebook and you don't reject someone you went to school with for four years unless you absolutely hate them. I pretended like I was ignorant to his presence and tried hard not to wonder if he noticed me or not. I had to keep trying to convince myself that I didn't care what he thought of me, I didn't care, I didn't care. But I did care. I always care. Even as I got off the bus and walked towards my hideous apartment building, I couldn't help but think that he was secretly making fun of me because of where I lived. See how egotistical I am? Most of the time I'm not even important enough for people to make fun of.

The last person I encountered was a total surprise. She was pretty and glamorous and surrounded by her pretty and glamorous friends and they were waiting by my very un-glamorous bus stop. She walked right past me to check the bus schedule. She walked so close in front of me that it was like I wasn't even there. I was just a ghost in a long black jacket. I didn't expect her to talk to me or anything, just a gleam of recognition in her eye? I need to stop thinking that I'm so important. Not everyone will remember me or like me or care about me. I wish I knew how to be more likable.
